Bio

About the candidate

Troy Regas is a Sparks, Nevada resident who has worked as a wholesale florist and identifies publicly as the president of the Northern Nevada Nomads chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. He has also served as chairman of the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs. In the 1990s, Regas was convicted in federal court on conspiracy and continuing criminal enterprise charges tied to a drug-trafficking prosecution and served a five-year prison sentence. In 2024, he became a public face of a controversy in which a fellow motorcycle-club member displayed a symbol at a Washoe County Commission meeting that residents identified as a swastika; during public testimony Regas declined to describe the symbol as a swastika and referred to it as a "bent cross." Regas is the sole Republican candidate for Washoe County Commission District 3 in 2026, challenging Democratic incumbent Mariluz Garcia. Federal campaign finance records show recurring 2024–2025 contributions to Trump National Committee JFC, Never Surrender, Inc., and WinRed. Former Washoe County Sheriff Tom Green has publicly endorsed him.
