Becky Harris

Becky Harris is an attorney and mediator born in Provo, Utah in 1968. She holds a B.A. and J.D. from Brigham Young University and an M.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and has been a member of the State Bar of Nevada since 1999. She served in Nevada's Foreclosure Mediation Program from 2010 to 2014 and is publicly identified as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elected to the Nevada State Senate in 2014 as a Republican, Harris served on the Judiciary, Finance, and Education committees. In 2018, Governor Brian Sandoval appointed her as the first woman to chair the Nevada Gaming Control Board. She later joined UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law as a Distinguished Fellow in Gaming and Leadership. Harris changed her voter registration to nonpartisan in 2025 and is running for Clark County Commission District F under a 'People Over Politics' banner emphasizing experience, integrity, and independence. Her legislative record includes bills on data-center tax abatements, teacher recruitment, human-trafficking victims, and expanded services for English-language learners, alongside more conservative votes on the Affordable Care Act, medical marijuana expansion, and a ban on conversion therapy for minors.
